Teachers - Elementary
Welcome to the page with a little bit about your child's teacher, me, Mr. Lo! Please head over to the class website for information about what is happening in the classroom.
I am excited to call Glendale Sciences and Technology School my home away from home for a fourth year! This is currently my fifth year teaching grade 3. I love seeing the growth in students at this grade, both academically and socially. I hope your child will have an even more rewarding year myself!
After graduating from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Education (BEd), I began my teaching career in 2009, my career started in teaching grade 9. Through the years I have experienced teaching in middle school and grade 4 as well. My subjects of specialization in my university days were Social Studies and Science. Although I am continuing to get excited about developing great lessons in Math and Language Arts.
I am also beginning my Masters of Elementary Education (MEd) through the University of Alberta. I am excited to learn more and use this as a professional development opportunity.
Personally, I was born in Hong Kong, my family and I moved to Canada when I was very young. We settled in Calgary, that is where I grew up. I have lived in Red Deer for 6 years now and enjoy the many friends I have here. In my years of going through K-12 schooling, I encountered many teachers who showed passion about what they taught and dedication to teaching students. It is these numerous teachers that helped me decide that I too wanted to join the teaching profession.
Some of my interests and passions include photography, travelling, snowboarding and trains/public transit vehicles. My journeys have taken me to a variety of countries worldwide: China, England, France, Germany, Japan, Malaysia, Netherlands, Singapore and United States of America. Most recently this summer I spent an amazing 3.5 weeks in South America, visiting Argentina, Chile and Peru!
